Welcome!  I’m Lisa.  You have found my travel website dedicated to documenting my 2012 career break.  The site is still under construction, but I am going to take you from the planning stages to the actual day to day of my trip.  I will be traveling throughout all of 2012.  I am leaving in January and aim to be back around December.

Let me tell you a little about me.  I have already had a few major careers, so if “Professional Vagabond” is a career, then this is my fourth.  I have been a Molecular Biologist, Recruiter, and a Sales Manager in my previous life.  But that was then, this is now…

I have always been blessed (or plagued, depending on how you look at it) by wanderlust.  When I start to get bored, it gets to be this underlying theme song playing in my head at all times.  Lately it had gotten so loud I could no longer ignore it!  So here I am, unemployed and homeless, ready to embark on the trip of a lifetime!
